Cityparents welcomes 20,000th member
Cityparents, the London-based organisation offering a platform of support for working parents, is celebrating its 20,000th member registration. Louise James, Managing Director at Accenture joined on Thursday 23rd April.
Louisa Symington-Mills, CEO of Cityparents said, “We are delighted to welcome Louise and all our new members to Cityparents. Reaching 20,000 members is a really exciting milestone; it’s been eight years since Cityparents launched and since then our offering has expanded significantly to meet the growth in our member base and offer support to parents working in professional roles – support that’s needed now more than ever”.
Since the on-set of COVID-19, Cityparents has moved its offering online and adjusted its programme of content to offer specific support to members living and working through the pandemic. Expert presentations are now all delivered virtually with topics covering remote working, balancing childcare with work, managing family life under lockdown, home schooling and mental health.
The network’s 20,000th member Louise James said: "It’s a tough time, and everyone has their own version of the challenges they are facing. I decided to join Cityparents to get advice on both wellbeing and juggling family life whilst under lockdown.”
Louisa Symington-Mills added, "Parents with professional careers often talk to us of the tensions between their home and work responsibilities, and these have heightened dramatically in recent weeks. The suspension of schools and most forms of childcare thanks to Covid-19 has placed working parents under new levels of pressure, with many couples now managing full-time jobs alongside childcare and home school. We’re seeing a significant increase in members reaching out for support”. Cityparents has seen a spike in new joiners this year, with registrations during March up 345% year on year.
After a recent webinar on ‘Supporting Children Emotionally During Uncertain Times’ another working parent said, “My almost daily Cityparents webinars are invaluable and I hope that you know how much joy you bring to us, you and your team are true sanity saviours.”
