Enjoying a long weekend

Well, its been another difficult week. Baby is teething and has another cough & cold - her fourth in 8 weeks, not that I'm counting - and husband has the man-flu. At least I'm home today and tomorrow, using up holiday before the end of the year, so I'm able to spend a bit of time with them. Monday through Wednesday, my commuting days into London, I calculated I saw my little girl for a total of 12 minutes, and we were certainly happy to see each other this morning. 

Dress dilemma for tomorrow night - our first black-tie do since the baby arrived in January - has taken over much of the week. After blogging on Sunday that I had found the perfect dress - long, black Maxmara column - which only required a meagre diet to be perfect, I discovered to my horror that the dress code was in fact cocktail dresses. So a rush round clothes stores in the City in my lunch hour fortunately came up with the perfect knee-length goods - thanks to Hobbs and their beautiful Aphrodite dress. Hides my baby tummy and highlights the good bits, so I'm happy again. Still nervous about my first night ever away from baby, but can't wait for a really grown-up night out!
